What I found useful when helping to setup Promyvion Missions was to organize an ENM or a Promyvion NM run to coincide with the Promyvion Mission BC. While the Promy BC is limited to 6 players, up to 18 can enter the ENM battlefield (with an xp penalty mind you). If you want to try for the NM in each Promyvion zone a solid base of 8+ players is very helpful. Everyone can do the ENM before the Promyvion BC (providing that they remembered to grab the key item). Of course, you gotta be sure not to blow all your good 2 hours in the ENM prior to the BC. Not to mention more people = more aggro~Vodevil
I really liked the sound of that, so much so, that I would like to have a regularly scheduled event. There is a lot to do in the promys, experience to be had, maps to be “won,” equipment to be gained. How much we do, only depends on how many people show up.
Things to do in a Promyvion:[/u]
- Farm
Farming can be done with as little as 1 person (depending on job), up to however many show up. The more people that show up, the higher in the promy we can farm; and as an added bonus, the more EXP we will gain while farming^^.
There are 2 main things to be farmed, not including memory’s (which sell for about nothing, cannot be NPCed, and are of use only to Alchemy craftsman;) and one other item dropped off the NMs on the 3rd floor see below.- Recollections are dropped off every mob in any promy, and are used to make animas for use in the boss battle; mission or ENM (may work on any “Empty” mob, but have never tested this.)
- Recollection of Pain makes Hysteroanima. Mob can’t use TP attacks.
- Recollection of Guilt makes Terroanima. Makes mob run around. Great for regrouping, and RNG and BLM can continue doing damage.
- Recollection of Fear makes Psychoanima. Intimidates the mob; stops most attacks, but still uses TP moves.
The Recollections are traded, along with 2k gil, to Harith (H-5) in Ru’Lude Gardens, one at a time, and you will receive your animas. Note, you can only have one of each at any time. - Recollection of Pain makes Hysteroanima. Mob can’t use TP attacks.
- Memosphere’s drop off the “big normal” mobs that are exclusive to each promy, as well as their NM counterpart on the 3rd floor (with better drop rate.) These are used to obtain the maps of the promy’s see below.
- Recollections are dropped off every mob in any promy, and are used to make animas for use in the boss battle; mission or ENM (may work on any “Empty” mob, but have never tested this.)
- Camp NM’s
There is 1 NM in each of the first 3 Promyvion’s on the 3rd floor. Along with dropping recollections and Memospheres (at a higher rate than similar mobs in the zone,) they also drop a “Remnant” that is used to pop an NM in Promyvion-Vahzl (CoP Chapter 5-2 for access.) The popped NMs in Promyvion-Vahzl drop White Memospheres (for Promyvion-Vahvl map), and special recollections that are traded in for: Stone Gorget, Dia Wand, and Hamayumi. There is no plan to go to Promyvion-Vahzl at this time.
These NMs can be taken down with a group of 6 (provided right set up):- Cerebrator in Promyvion-Holla
- Coveter in Promyvion-Mea
- and Satiator in Promyvion-Dem
but is much safer for a larger group^^. - Cerebrator in Promyvion-Holla
- Get Maps
Maps of these zones are obtained from trading the right Memosphere to a ??? on the 3rd or 4th floor (not to be confused with the static ??? for the Tactics Pearl NPC quest on each floor.) There are 3 spawn points on the 4th floor, and 1 on the 3rd. What can make this difficult is that the 3rd floor has 2 sections, and as far as I know, the side you end up on is random. With a large group, this need not be to difficult, since it would be a simple matter of dropping floors and trying to get on the “right” side again, should we realize that the ??? is indeed on the 3rd floor. The ??? for these is surrounded by a bunch of difficult mobs (again, not a problem for a large group.) I got my map of Promyvion-Holla solo; followed a group up to the top, then ran around looking for my ???. When I found it, I stoneskined/blinked/reraised(item) myself, and waited for the mobs to move. Got map no problem, but aggroed when I was running out…lol- Teal Memosphere for Map of Promyvion-Holla
- Indigo Memosphere for Map of Promyvion-Mea
- Beryl Memosphere for Map of Promyvion-Dem

- Do Mission
This is why the promys even exist. Most of us know what a pain these are/were to complete, and it is my goal to make them as painless as possible, and get as many people threw them as we can.
For Glory is the best guide out there for all thing CoP, and if you have not yet gained entrance to the promys, this will get you threw the first 3 cut scenes.
There are “preferred” party set up for these, but I firmly believe that with enough animas and meds, any sound party set up can beat these. - ENM
Empty Notorious Monster battles are an “easy” and fun way to gain some EXP (3000 for a group of 6), and you lose none if you are defeated; also, there is a chance of getting a “Vision” that can be traded for a Lv35 skill +3 earring. All ENMs require a special key item; in this case, they are easy to obtain. Talk to Venessa at (H-10) in Ru’Lude Gardens (3 times to get all three key items [1 for each promy-ENM].) You can only attempt an ENM is any given battlefield every 5 days (earth time;) and while you get 3000exp for a group of 6, up to 18 people can enter, but the EXP gained will be lower. There is a 15-30 minute time limit on these; and are similar to the mission boss (though it is said that they are easier.) You can do an ENM and mission boss during the same run (but can’t go mission>>ENM…unless you loose the mission><.) Animas can be used in the ENM.- Simulant Promyvion-Holla (need poison pots [AoE sleep], and “fake” buffs [ie, selbina milk, bad food…mob has “buff drain” ability]
- Vernal Vision traded for a Evasion Earring
- Punctilious Vision is traded for a Parrying Earring
- Audacious Vision is traded for a Divine Earring
- Vivid Vision is traded for a Healing Earring
- Endearing Vision is traded for a Singing Earring

- Pretentious Vision is traded for a Elemental Earring
- Malicious Vision is traded for a Ninjutsu Earring
- Pristine Vision is traded for a Wind Earring

- Timorous Vision is traded for a Enfeebling Earring
- Brilliant Vision is traded for a Summoning Earring
- Venerable Vision is traded for a String Earring
- Violent Vision is traded for a Buckler Earring

- Tactics Pearl Quest
After you have had and used your NPC for a while, checking in with him at the Rendezvous Point; he may ask you to meet him in a Promyvion. When you get there, you check the Rendezvous point inside, and run around killing mobs until you find a ???. Checking the ??? will give your NPC exp. Now, the more mobs you kill, the more exp your NPC will gain; but also, the higher floor your on when you check the ??? (there’s one on each floor), the more exp you gain for him/her as well. So, the more people that show up, the higher floor we can get to before we finish this quest. The quest is repeatable, and there is a 45 minute time limit to find the ???. You get the Tactics Pearl when you check the Rendezvous point back in a city.
Things to bring or think about:
- 30cap armor
- Echo drops, Weepers do an AoE silence move. Any caster (nin and brd included) will need these.
- Food and meds (portions, ethers, drinks, etc.)
- Poison potions. As far as I know, only in Promyvion-Holla would these be needed to avoid AoE sleep.
- if comings as NIN main or sub, don’t forget your tools:P
- Animas, if ya got ‘em, bring ‘em
- in no way necessary, but the Shade armor (ignore the specs^^) is something to think about if you can equip it, and plan on doing this regularly.
- a method of warping is a good thing
- Friends^^
Some notes:
- nobody needs to appologize for not making it.
- Homepoints in Jeuno is a good thing
- nobody is required to farm recollections/animas before this event. This event is specifically designed to work with a small, or large group. Farming will always be the starting point. Gives something to do when only a couple people show up; and a chance for late comers to still join in.
- I am not worried about the jobs you bring. I would like a WHM (preferably with the first 3 teleports) for each party that we are able to form, and a BLM is nice for WarpII; other then that, job "assignment" will be decided when we get there.
- I've been doing some serious thinking on what would be the fairest way to devide things up.
With the drops from this run, I'm going to start a "Promyvion Annihilation!" fund. This fund will be used to cover the cost of meds, reraise items, some capped gear (Shade armor), and whatever other expenses we may have for these runs. All items that are not to be given to someone, will be sold, and added to this fund. Should this fund get excessivly large, there will be "paydays" (to be worked out later) for those that regularly attend.
As for visions/earrings that people want; these will be decided by attendence on these runs. Some of these earrings are worth a lot, but I would much rather give these earring to someone that's been active with these runs, and can/will use the earrings; rather then just sell them. But I don't want to give a first time (in these runs) tank an Evasion earring, simply because he's leveling NIN. I want these things going to people that have had and shown as much interest in these runs, as we all have.
I haven't worked out all the detailes yet; and I would love your input, but I think this is a good start.
